THE VISUAL ART NETWORK

The Visual Art Network (VAN) is a member-led, volunteer run organisation for local artists and makers aiming to promote the visual arts in Shropshire and the surrounding area. We currently have around 100 members.

During Shrewsbury Arts Trail our street gallery, located on the middle level of the Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury, will be hosting two exhibitions of members’ work.

24th June – 16th August: ‘Open Exhibition’

In line with the Arts Trail this exhibition of members’ work has no specific theme to allow for creativity without limits.

 

19th August – 11th October: ‘Faces We Love’

A portrait exhibition to celebrate the creatures, human or otherwise, we love and hold dear.

Other areas of the gallery will display general items showcasing the creativity and talent of local artists and makers with a range of work to buy including paintings, prints, illustrations, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, glasswork, jewellery and greetings cards.

 

This year, we will also have a stall at the Made in Shropshire market in The Square on Saturday 9th August.

 

Opening Times (subject to volunteer availability)

Tuesday – Friday: 11.00 am – 3.00 pm

Saturday: 10.00 am – 5.00 pm

Sunday: 11.00 am – 4.00 pm
