THE VISUAL ART NETWORK

The Visual Art Network (VAN) is a member-led, volunteer run organisation for local artists and makers aiming to promote the visual arts in Shropshire and the surrounding area. We currently have around 80 members.

During Shrewsbury Arts Trail our street gallery, located on the middle level of the Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury, will be hosting two exhibitions of members' work along with a voting for VAN Artist of the Year.

23rd June — 15th August:

Open Exhibition

In line with the Arts Trail this exhibition of members' work has no specific theme to allow for creativity without limits.

 

23rd June – 28th June

VAN Artist of the Year

All work exhibited will be entered into the Artist of the Year and we ask that visitors to the gallery vote on their favourite artworks.

18th August — 10th October:

Paintings with Narrative 

Artwork that tells a story inspired by mythology, symbolic imagery and timing sequence.

Other areas of the gallery will display general items showcasing the creativity and talent of local artists and makers with a range of work to buy including paintings, prints, illustrations, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, glasswork, jewellery and greetings cards.

Opening Times (subject to volunteer availability)

Tuesday - Friday: 11.00 am - 3.00 pm

Saturday: 10.00 am - 5.00 pm

Sunday: 11.00 am - 4.00 pm
