ENGLISH BRIDGE STUDIOS
English Bridge Studios is a creative community and events space on Abbey Foregate, in the heart of Shrewsbury.
The building has a long history of learning, creativity and community use. For more than 40 years, it was known as English Bridge Workshop, supporting artists, makers and creative activity in the town. Before that, it served as an art school, and earlier still as the Abbey National School.
Today, English Bridge Studios is home to resident artists, creative workspaces, workshops, events, exhibitions and flexible community hire. It continues to offer affordable space for artists and creatives, while welcoming the wider public through talks, practical workshops, Arts Café evenings and community focused activity.
As part of Shrewsbury Open Studios on 11 and 12 July, English Bridge Studios will be opening its doors and hosting selected artists who do not have their own studio space, giving them the opportunity to take part and share their work with visitors.

The studios will also host an Arts Café event with Dan Berry on Tuesday 14 July, continuing its monthly programme of relaxed, artist led evenings.

On Sunday 9 August the Studios will be holding a Workshop Taster Day to help raise funds for the Perches House restoration. Visitors will be able to have a go at Gel Printing, Collage, Lino Printing or Badge Making.
English Bridge Studios is delighted to be part of Shrewsbury Arts Trail, celebrating the artists, makers, creative spaces and cultural life of the town.
