
ST MARY'S CHURCH
St Mary’s is one of over 350 buildings saved by the Churches Conservation Trust, a national charity conserving historic churches at risk. Our unique collection of English churches includes irreplaceable examples of architecture, stained glass, archaeology, and art from 1,000 years of history.
Shropshire Art Society will be holding its Annual Summer Exhibition at St. Mary’s from Monday 20 June to Wednesday 6 July 2022 (excluding Sundays) and will be open from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. Closing at 1.00 pm Wednesday 6 July.
Formed in 1948 Shropshire Art Society is a thriving community of over 200 artists and lovers of the visual arts based in the beautiful county of Shropshire.
In addition, the Society will have an exhibition of members' work throughout July and August in St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s St, The Cathedral, Town Walls, and also in Shrewsbury Unitarian Church, High St.
OPENING TIMES:
The Cathedral Orchard Cafe: open Wednesday to Sunday 10.00 am – 3.00 pm Unitarian Church: Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10.00 - 3.30; occasional Saturdays.
On Saturday, August 6th the Glass Festival will be returning to St. Mary’s showcasing the creative talents of local glass artists. Set amidst the beautiful stained glass of the church, including the famous Jesse window, visitors will be able to see and purchase a diverse range of glass art and talk to the artists.
