Specialty coffee with a twist and hearty, handmade food.  An exhibition of work by local artist, Lena Jarl-Churm will hang throughout June. Lena’s style is based on her Nordic colours and big country with lots of forests, lakes and big skies. Lena paints with her heart. Emotions, thoughts and a longing for the sea, lakes and forests all affect her style.

Ginger & Co

Independent coffee specialists will be showing work by local artist, Georgie Johnson. Georgie’s work is inspired by nature, countryside and the motion of sea and water. Working mainly in oils and acrylics she aims to convey movement and colour in her paintings. Pop in for delicious cakes and more home-made delights.


Glou Glou 

The Wine Bar and Shop on Castle Gates is exhibiting the work of abstract artist

Sam Pooley-Stride.

The Therapy Sessions. 

This body of work continues to narrate the highs and lows of the relationship between creating and the artist's own evolution. 

In these paintings Sam explores the joy of enlightenment, devastation of disappointment and optimism of the potential growth in others.

Hopefully Made 

Not just a beautiful coffee shop, but also an eco-friendly company producing hand screen printed gifts. Founders Hope Gwilliams and Becky Rawlins run screen print workshops and have spaces for three resident artists, first to arrive is digital artist Dan Catt. Pop in for coffee and see their screen prints and Dans work on 12th June or book into one of their classes in the evenings.

Drawn Illustrators Fair 
19th June

Created by local Artist Cherie Jerrard, a wonderful opportunity to discover a treasure trove of Shropshire illustrators

work at the Shrewsbury Museum and Gallery on 19th June from 10 am to 4pm. 

Refreshments from Stop Cafe in the museum, there will be kids workshops and stalls with  original art, artists prints, home ware and gifts.


Lovely Land Workshop 
June 12th 

The Lovely Land social enterprise scheme will be coming to town on the 12th June for a natural print making workshop. 11am - 1pm Head to the top of the Darwin Centre.

Free for all - donations welcome.


Bloom for Budding Artist 

A brilliant studio created by Kerry Jones with a year round programme for children. Saturday and holiday classes, private tuition and focus groups plus parties and champ art for the grown ups. Head to the website for the full list.

From Charles Darwin outside the library to controversial Clive of India in the Square, Hercules in the Quarry Park and The Quantum Leap. Shrewsbury is blessed with an incredible array of outdoor art. We would love to encourage you to wander our fine town and discover these historical artefacts.

Raven Studios

Throughout June you will be able to enjoy the evolving gallery on the outside of the building. This includes Matt Sewell’s fabulous Ravens (who we like to call Ray & Yvonne) and Daisy Pooley-Tolkien’s Shropshire Stories on the upper windows. Our Window Gallery created in conjunction with The Shropshire Cycle Hub will show

an installation by Amy Smith and paintings by Emma Williams.

On 12th June we’ll be opening the doors for an open studio day with an exhibition of work by Raven’s permanent and temporary members.

Discover a host of Shropshires finest arts and Crafts at the monthly Market in the Square on 12th June.

Head up to the gallery level and you’ll find artists and designer- makers at work, as well as giant murals by the Shrewsbury-based international artist Matt Sewell.

Nerdy Coffee Co.

Nerdy Coffee Co. is Shrewsbury's very own Board Game Cafe with a library of more than 800 games, delicious hot and cold drinks and a fantastic community. Not only that, but Nerdy is a brilliant event hub, running an exciting program of community focussed events for all ages. Artists William Lee and Katie Barrett will be displaying their work here. William is a freelance graphic designer who enjoys experimenting with photography, animation techniques and different graphic styles. He is currently working with companies and individuals who are focussed on making positive differences in the world. Katie has had her work shown in many group and solo shows both in the UK and internationally. She takes inspiration from natural landscapes and seascapes. Her works seek to capture fragments of nature’s delicate hues, luminous skies and reflected lights on water.

Enjoy a delicious menu of contemporary food with a home cooked feel and discover a mural by Doodle Boy. 

11 year old Joe Whale is famed for his doodles, having been discovered at Bloom for Budding Artists, Joe's success has seen him launch his own You Tube channel and has gone on to appear on Television including the Ellen Show and Blue Peter. 


St. Marys Church 

For the Arts Trail the medieval splendour of St Mary’s church
will be hosting an exhibition by Shropshire Art Society from 18th June – 5th July and a Glass Festival on 12th June, showcasing the talent and creativity of local glass makers who will be displaying, selling and demonstrating their craft.


Also on the 12th June you will be able to see re-enactment groups perform scenes from the 14th and 16th Century.

Other than visiting the shop, a treasure trove full of arts and crafts to discover. On the 12th of June there will be felting demonstrations by Louise Spencer throughout the day, just pop in.

Through mindful walking and being immersed in all weathers in rural and urban environments, Zoë collects textures, marks and patterns, recording felt and observed experiences in space and time. This reflection on mood and feeling is a visceral process that is then transferred to the studio.

Visual Art Network

During Shrewsbury Arts Trail
our street gallery, located on
the middle level of the Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury, will be hosting an exhibition of drawings by some of our members. Other areas of the gallery will feature a diverse range of work

to buy by local artists and makers including paintings, prints, illustrations, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, jewellery and greetings cards.

On 12th June two of our members will be in the gallery demonstrating their drawing style and technique.
